For this drawing I drew a shoe and a hand emerging from it. I drew this because I thought it would be a very interesting subject and would be very nice to look at. In the drawing there is also two lockers, a dip pen, and a bottle of ink. I used a dip pen in order to draw this and I used a sturdy paper that could absorb the ink without smudging. I played with many small shapes to make up the shoe, I made the lockers small to create an illusion of depth, and I tried new shading techniques including hatching, crosshatching, and stippling. This drawing makes me happy to look at, as it's weird yet amusing.

I painted my brother in a 3/4 point of view. I used pencils and erasers to sketch a picture, and then painted it with tempera paint. I used different shades of color to create the affect of shading and form, making my painting look realistic. Highlights display a contrast between bright and dark colors which also aid the illusion of livelihood. The painting makes me feel a bit happy as it turned out well, but it isn't accurate enough that it looks much like my brother.
This is a self portrait of myself when I was fourteen. Back then I had long hair and I felt that I wanted to draw it, to to remember how I used to look. This was drawn using new techniques such as placing the eyes in the middle of the head. I drew this with a pencil, and used it to shade under the eyes, nose, lips, and chin. I also made sure that the proportions were correct on the face, to keep the eyes generally lined up and the same size. This drawing makes me happy because it reminds me of how I used to look and how much I've changed.
This painting is of several leaves I found outside. I chose two red leaves, two green leaves, and one yellow leaf. I used watercolor paints, first placing the yellow undertone and then the actual colors of the leaves. The shadow is blue to intensify the drawing and to make it more lively. I added texture by running the paints, and colored the leaves brightly to attract emphasis.
